I've been using NuvaRing for a while now, and love it. I've never had any trouble with it, except now. When I got the prescription, the nurse showed me a little trick to folding up the ring and inserting it, which I normally do. Usually, it pops right back into it's circle-y shape. This one, however, stayed folded. I didn't worry about it, I figured that once I moved around a bit that it would fix itself. Weirdly enough, it didn't. So I took it out and tried to reinsert it without folding it up, but now it seems to be permanantly folded and wonky shaped. If I pull it back to normal shape, it springs back to folded.

Anyway, I wouldn't worry about it except that it keeps falling down in my vagina so that it sits just at the opening. I've noticed that when this happens, the hormones (I assume) irritate the skin there and make me itchy.

Any suggestions? Did I just get a wonky ring? If I go back before I'm supposed to need a new one, then my insurance won't pay for it, so I hope I don't have to resort to that.

Thanks for any advice that you can offer!!!

Sounds to me like you just got a dud of a ring, and that should easily be replaced by your pharmacy without you being charged extra. Essentially, it'd be a return.

oh, that would be good. I figured someone else would have had this happen before, I've really had very good success with the rings so far, and as a long time pill-forgetter, I'm glad there are other options.
