There is a sore on the inside of my top lip. The sore is about 1/2 an inch long, it's kinda cream colored and it's red on the outside of it. I did some research and they have said that it could be many things: syphilis, HIV, herpes, etc etc. maybe someone here would know something about it. or may be I'm getting myself worked up over nothing and it turns out that it is just a canker sore. I've had canker sores before but they're not this big and not as painful I can't eat certain foods, especially food thats salty or spicy. My manager at work said that the sore could have been caused by my husband hurting me that one night we got into that fight, and he told me to try some Listerine. I tried it and it burned like a mother! What do you think that it might be? Me and Randy have been tested, and he gets tested every 6 months for STD's, and so do I. Should I just make an appointment to see the doctor? Does it sound serious?

I'd just make an appointment, and let your doctor know what it is, so that he/she will know to get you in as soon as possible, so that they can have a look at it while it is fresh.

Testing is only ONE part of safer sex, so if you're not also using latex barriers (including for oral) and did not wait to NOT use them for the right amount of time (at least six months of monogamy AND after two negative screens each) then obviously, STI trnsmission is a possibility. Please remember that without doing ALL of those things, you cannot consider your STI risks to be reduced: all of them are vital.

But a canker sore is also a possibility. So, just get in to see your doc as soon as you can, both for your health and your sanity.

(FYI, if your divorce case is still pending, I would strongly suggest you edit the first stence of your post, Ashley, so as to not have a public admission and record of something which may make obtaining a divorce even more difficult.)
