I'm currently using nuvaring and my doctor told me that if I wanted to, I didn't have to wait a week between rings. However, she either didn't tell me or I don't remember how long I have to wait until the new ring starts working. I took the old one out, and put the new one in immmeadiatley.

If this isn't your first month on the Nuva Ring, you're protected right away. Whether or not you skip your withdrawal bleed doesn't have any effect on how protected you are. Do know that skipping the withrdawal bleed can cause some spotting.
