I lost my virginity to by boyfriend six months ago. Whenever he fingers me I usually bleed. Why is this? It never happens when we have sex. I cannot think of a reason why this keeps happening! Please help! Thank you Scarleteen!!!

Well, how gentle is he being?

Is he only doing any vaginal insertion when you are VERY aroused as well as lubricated, as in, with extra lubricant? When he is doing that, does it feel very good, or are you experiencing any sort of discomfort during?

Is he wearing latex gloves or, at least, very carefully grooming his hands -- as in, nailed clipped, filed for a lack of sharp edges, callouses tended to?
