Alright..this is my first time on this site. I don't know too much, but I thought I would start out with some help.
--I know it's possible to have sex on your period. i know all of the consequences and everything, too. Me and my guy have tried it in the shower so maybe it wouldn't be soo messy & it actually isn't. Does anyone else have any other ideas that would maybe work w/o a shower??

Really, there isn't much to say here. Sex is messy, as is menstruation, and thus, sex during menstruation is messy.

Most folks who like to be sexually active while menstruating simply use a towel.

Do be aware that STI risks are increased during menstruation, so condoms are key (which are mighty hard to use in the shower).

actually, i heard that you could use a diaphram or something of the sort that would catch the menstruation during sex. I am not sure if it works or if it is even true. Mz. Scarlet, have you heard of this?

Instead menstrual cups are great for this sort of thing; however, they may increase the risk of condom breakage due to added friction if he penetrates too deeply.

Yes, and you have an increased risk for STD transmission.

Emergency contraception and a STD screening should be on your to-do list as soon as possible.
