I was on it for a while. With my insurance, Depo cost $15 every three months. I experienced spotting, slight weight gain, and an absence of menstral bleeding. And pregnancy, but that's rare-ish and there were other circumstances surrounding it. Since my fiance and I have decided to start having intercourse again, I'm most likely going to start using Lunelle. There is a thread in the Ladies' Room with more information on that one, but I don't think anyone is using it.

I'm not on the shot right now, but i've been considering it for a bit, and my doctor has put me on progesterin only pills (micronor) to see how my body would react to it. This is b/c i've been diagnosed as clinically depressed and it's much easier to stop taking pills than undo the BC shot If you have a problem w/ depression at all, discuss it w/ your doctor. Crashing into an emotional ball of mush isn't what i'd call fun ...

I've been on Depo since Dec. I love it! I haven't really experienced any weight gain, but I have irregular spotting and no real period now. All this goes away after the first few shots though. Most women stop bleeding completely, and I can't wait!
Mine is free where I live from Planned Parenthood.
