i am a male virgin. i was wondering if a mans orgasm is caused by just putting his dick in a girls vagina or is it caused by moving it in and out like with your hand during masterbation.

Orgasm, for either gender, isn't caused by any one thing for any one person, period.
In general, orgasm, overall, is caused by stimulation and arousal that is physical, emotional and intellectual. Most men and women orgasm due to stimulation of the genitals through any number of means, and which one works best depends on each person, not on their gender. So, in your case, both those things could bring on orgasm. At the same time, neither of those things might do so.
Orgasm is a pretty complicated thing that involves your whole body and brain, not just your penis or vulva.
