Just a heads-up for everyone: usually, around this time of year, traffic/use slows down a lot at Scarleteen due to the holidays. That tends to be a good fit because many of our volunteers celebrate the holidays, so are less available and validly want some time with their families and friends.

However, this year -- who knows why! -- that hasn't happened so far, which means we have as much traffic as usual, but less staff/volunteer availability.

That given, there may be longer waits to get questions answered over the next week or two here, or longer lags in conversations. We're sorry for any delays and appreciate your patience.

On your end, we'd appreciate it if you could help us out with this in a couple ways:

• Before posting questions, as usual, please look through the main site and the boards for information. So often, a question that seems so unique has actually already been answered. This is always important to do, but is particularly helpful when we're short-handed.

• In the areas that are not for staff and volunteer answers only, if you, as a user, have a little extra time to give another user some links, some support, some listening, some conversation, that would be awesome as ever but again, particularly when we have less available staff and volunteers. Even if and when you don't know the answer to something, you can still usually be supportive and help someone else find their answer on the site or elsewhere.

• Just do be patient with us. We'd ideally love to be able to answer you and talk with you in record time, too: this is frustrating for us, as well. But alas, sometimes our limits and limitations are larger than other times, and this is one of those times.

Thanks so much!

Afraid that on top of the holidays, a couple of us, myself included, are ill right now, too.

So, sorry again for the slowness!
