Hi everyone,I am a filmmaker living in NYC, co-directing the first-ever feature-length documentary on bisexuality in America. We will be focusing on bisexual youth and the rise of bisexualityu amongst middle school, high school, and college kids across the country. This documentary will likely air on HBO or be released in movie theaters in 2007.
PLEASE rack your brains for people in your past or present lives that identify as bisexual (who might want to be in this movies), those who choose not to label themselves but are attracted to both sexes, or those are refer to their sexualities as "fluid," "poly," or "omni." They can be out or closeted, struggling with their sexual identity or completely comfortable with themselves.
A bit more about the doc...
This movie, entitled BI THE WAY will trace the roots, transformations, and "comings out" of bisexuality in American culture and respond to the recent scientific studies and newspaper articles that have been interrogating the existence of bisexuality--through a roadtrip-style anthropological/pop-cultural exploration of the phenomenon. We will be interviewing/following as many diverse people as possible that we meet on the road, along with academics (Kinsey Institute people, the biographer of Anais Nin and Simone de Beauvoir), musicians (Ani Difranco, Michael Stipe, Sophie B. Hawkins), celebrities (potentially Angelina Jolie and David Bowie), politicians (Michael Huffington), filmmakers (Gus Van Zant, John Cameron Mitchell, and Charlie Kaufman), religious fanatics, psychiatrists, researchers, sexologists, etc. We will be focusing on three or four personal stories as well---and that is where you come in.
So if you are interested in being in this important and potentially influential movie, email me a bit about yourself (where you live, age, relationships, interests, etc). Any info provided is strictly confidential and if you're having concerns about others seeing your story, remember that it won't air until 2007.
And please pass this info along to anyone else you know who might be interested!
Hope to hear from you!
