i know i have asked this before, but are you sure that if you urinate just after having sex that it wont reduce pregnancy risk, because cant it wash away the cum. might sound stupid question but bit confused.

Hi DogLover,

Urinating after sex will not reduce pregnancy risk. The vagina and the urethra (where urine comes out) are not connected, and while the urine may wash away some ejaculate that's around the outside of the vagina or on the vulva, it will not wash away ejaculate that's already inside. Urinating before and after sex can reduce the risk of developing a urinary tract infection though.

Does that make more sense?

Your urinary opening is not inside your vagina, which is where semen is deposited, and sperm them swim upwards to the cervix. You can look at that for yourself: Pink Parts - Female Sexual Anatomy.

But as I think we have said already, if you are trying to become pregnant, it really is best to be talking to an OB/GYN to plan for that pregnancy and have an in-person healthcare provider you talk to. For something as huge and individual as pregnancy and parenting, while we're a good secondary support, we really are NOT a sound primary source.
