Be careful with this. If you're there sometimes, and not there others, this kid could end up being a little confused. It's a little kid, they're dependent on everyone around them. If you give the impression that you're "daddy" when you're around him/her, but back out when you don't feel like playing "daddy", think of how the kid would feel.
Try playing Uncle.
