My gf and I engaged in intercourse on friday of last week which makes this the 8th day. We used protection (condom) and to the best of my knowledge it didn't break. She's been comlaining about lower abdominal pains for a few days now, tender breats, and just today she's been off and on nausea, she also claims her areolas are darker. But this all seems too soon and too all-at-once to be true. Is it possible to get so many symptoms in the first week since intercourse or do you think it's a coinsidence and it's all in her head?

The "symptoms" of pregnancy range from woman to woman and generally the more obvious ones don't start until much later than your girlfriend is describing. Also, the process of conception takes about a week, so it is very unusual that she is exhibiting any "symptoms" at all.

What may be happening is that she's worrying herself into seeing symptoms that aren't there. Once 10 days have passed, she can look into taking a pregnancy test to be sure of whether or not she is pregnant.

Also, if she is so nervous even when you two have used proper protection, perhaps you two can look into using two forms of protection at once, to provide more peace of mind.

You see, I'm usually the nervous one...we've fooled around before...but our goal is to not have sex until we're married...and we've pushed our limits, but we have still abstained from full on intercourse...this time, I'm not worried because my girlfriend is having her period symptoms, but she is worried because her period is late...do you know anything about Oona or magnesium?
