Is it possible to become pregnant if I don't have a regular period? I started when I was 13 and had it for about 3 months, skipped about 3 or 4 months, started again for another 3 months, skipped a year and a half, got on birth control, had one for 3 months, got off birth control and haven't had one in about 8 or 9 months. Since I do not expel an egg from by body every month through a period, do I still ovulate and can I become pregnant?
if your period is irregular, that's even MORE reason to be cautious and use birth control because your body is just so darn unpredictable, so you're just not going to be able to predict when you're ovulating at all. YES, you can get pregnant, and what makes matter worse is if you do, and you don't have a period, you might not realize your pregnant ill it's too late. my friend's sister was 7 months along till she figured out she was pregnant. that's a lot of missed prenatal care!
So don't take chances if you want to avoid conception. make sure you practice safer sex consistently. and if you're concerned with your overall fertility, ask your doctor.
and you neglect to mention how old you are, but it could just be that you're young and irregular, which is to be expected.
