I started college last year and discovered that the freshman 15 is a very real thing; I gained about that much, despite the fact that I continued to exercise every single day like I always had and rarely drank any alcohol. I weighed probably just enough to be considered a healthy weight before college (5' 5", 112 pounds) and I'm a distance runner so I was and have been in good shape. I am now just over 125 pounds, and while I know this isn't "fat," I still miss my old body and absolutely despise the way I look now. Worse, I can't lose it--I can stay motivated for maybe a week if I'm lucky, but something always happens where I'll start eating badly or get discouraged and I can never keep it up. I've maintained my weight this summer, since I finally stopped gaining when I came home. I would be happy with even losing five or ten pounds, if not necessarily getting back to where I was, but I really don't know what to do, and I'm afraid that once I go back to school in the fall it will start up again. Is there anything I can do?

Honestly, a lot of that is simply going to be about being careful to eat healthy and try to keep from getting discouraged. If you're eating healthy and exercising things'll even out. But college a lot of people tend to forget about eating healthy because schedules are a bit off. Maybe exercise with a friend, often it helps keep you from that discouragement.
