Sooooo.... I'm an 18 year old girl and have a whole lot of dark hair on my stomach. It's not even light and thin. It is longer and thicker than your average peach fuzz. I feel self conscious in a bikini because of it. No one in my family has stomach hair and not one of my female friends either. Any girls out there have fuzz too? Is this normal?
I'm starting to worry that I have some kind of hormonal problem. Should I wax it or shave it?

We're mammals, and that means that we're hairy. How much hair we have and where is pretty individual, but rest assured that there's nothing abnormal about a little fuzz on your stomach.

I have a sparse-ish but definitely noticeable "happy trail" on my stomach and I love it. I think it's sexy, and I like to show it off when I wear a swimsuit. I also have light fuzzy hair on my back. You can do whatever you want with your body hair, and if it'll make you feel more comfortable in your own skin, I say feel free to shave or wax. But body hair is perfectly normal, and I even think it's pretty, so don't feel like you have to do anything to yours.

Also, when someone is very underweight (like due to an eating disorder) you can develop this "blanket" of hair on your stomach, chest, back, arms, etc which is designed to keep your body warm. Just something to keep in mind if you're underweight. I think it's called lanugo, if you want to look it up.
