So after sitting down all day, wincing a little and thinking "damn that's got to be a bad bruise, I wonder how I did that" it finally occured to me to take a look at my backside.
I'm fairly sure it's a boil, because it's have to be a pretty enormous pimple (about skittle sized) and according to most of the health sites I looked at, they go away on their own in under a week. If it gets worse, if I spike a temp, or if it sticks around for longer than a week, I'll go down the clinic but according to the resources medical attention typically isn't necessary.
Anyone have any tips for coaxing it along or making it a bit less ouchy? Because sitting lopsided all week long does not appeal.

I'd really prevent poking at it, if I were you. If it IS just a giant pimple, one thing that will help bring it to a head and draw out all the yucky crud inside is to hold a warm washcloth on it for a while- it'll help draw the crud to the surface, and it does feel nice too.
But honestly, if it's hurting so much that you're sitting lopsided, it's likely best just to get it checked out and make sure it's not anything serious or infected.
