I have three wisdom teeth that show up on x-rays. 2 on top, one on bottom. yesterday i noticed that one of the upper ones had actually started to come in. I had no pain at all! isn't this odd?

Not that odd. Wisdom teeth can come in fine (mine did).
They're more likely than other teeth to produce problems - for example, if there isn't enough room in the jaw for them to come through properly, they may become "impacted".
But they don't automatically cause problems. So unless you're getting symptoms like pain or swelling, there's nothing to worry about.
Official recommendations in the UK are that even impacted wisdom teeth shouldn't be removed unless they're causing problems.

I had 6 wisdom teeth, two on top, 4 on the bottom, I was one of those people where my wisdom teeth became impacted and where coming up directly under my 12 year old molars, I was lucky and got mine removed before I felt them.

I had all four of my wisdom teeth removed, not because they were coming in wrong or were hurting. I got them removed because I had braces when I was younger and had they come in they would have inevitably caused my teeth to shift from their nice straight alignment, which would be a waste of all that money and time, not to mention I love my smile the way it is.
Even if a person did not have braces wisdom teeth can shift the alignment of a persons teeth, I would ask my dentist about whether the wisdom teeth should come out.
