You are definitely at risk for std's/sti's when you engage in unprotected oral sex. While the aforementioned are most commonly transmitted by sex, there are other ways they can be passed from person to person. For example, sharing a towel in the locker room, etc,

Check out the following:
Unprotected oral sex: ("blow job," "giving head," "going down," "rimming,")

* Cytomegalovirus (CMV)
* Gonorrhea
* Hepatitis B
* Herpes Simplex
* Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV)
* Human Papilloma Virus (HPV, Warts)
* Syphilis

The only way that you can be sure is for you and you boyfriend have not been exposed to the conditions above is to be tested. Use safe sex techniques consistently, and get tested again in 6 months, and then you can be sure.

Lisa is right. Sexually Transmitted Diseases are most commonly transmitted through sex but that does not mean they are transmitted through sex only

You might want to check this article out for more information.

And we always recommend using a condom when it comes to male oral sex and dental dams when it comes to female oral sex.

You and your bf should probably go to the doctor and get checked out for any STDs and if you are given a clean bill of health, start practicing safer sex.
