Breast tenderness on birth control

I recently just switched to another birth control with a higher dose of estrogen called Sprintec and I noticed a week before my period I've gotten sore breasts on both sides. I was wondering why that is? I've heard that sore breasts on the side meant you have ovulated?

Hi Kaayaj11. When someone switches to another type of pill, especially one that has a higher dosage of hormones, side effects are to be expected for the first few months, so it's likely that the soreness in your breasts are exactly that. Also, sore breasts can be a symptom of a large variety of things (PMS, pill side effects, pregnancy, a lot of different things really), it doesn't really give you any information by itself. So it can't, by itself, indicate ovulation (especially since it can't possibly have been a symptom of that in this case!).

Okay thank you for your help! Yeah, I figured it should be the pill. Pregnancy shouldn't be the case because I've only had intercourse about 6 days ago so it can't be that, plus I'm very good about my pills.
