So, periods and some of their symptoms can definitely be unpleasant to deal with. And for some people there is literally nothing even mildly enjoyable or pleasant about them. But, I was talking to some friends lately and we each realized that, as we'd gotten older, we'd tried to put one or two things in place (or shift the way we thought about certain things) that meant there was at least something about it that we enjoyed a bit (mine was basically to invest in washable pads with fun patterns).
i just like the food that my parents get me. other than that, there is literally nothing enjoyable about it because the pain has gotten worse as i've gotten older.
Kind of a meta answer here, but I like getting it because that's when I feel completely normal and natural. I've had irregular periods all my life, sometimes missing them for months in my teenage years, so when I do get one it makes me really happy.
Other than that, when I have to go to classes on my cramping days, there is nothing better than finally coming home after that and having an excuse to be lazy all day haha.
- Excuse to be lazy, feeling badass that I'm conquering the day while ALSO bleeding, the food, coming home at the end of the day, it's also when I feel the most natural since I'm also used to irregular periods, the arousal is great and feels like a nice glow, AND I'm not pregnant. Also I do get quite bad cramps on the first day, but oddly, I really enjoy the feel of a hot water bottle against my belly when it feels that way. I try it when I'm not on my period but it doesn't feel as comforting.
Not so much my period (which mostly feels a bit inconvenient), but I've noticed one good thing about PMS. For a day or two before my period, I feel extra-strong and badass. I'm much more able/willing to really speak my mind because I feel less worried about what other people think of me. PMS also has some other less-fun mood components for me, but I like feeing tough!
