Foreskin

Unread post by Svaetopluk »

Hello, this is my very first post and i feel little bit awkward and embarrased but since i have nobody else to ask i trust somebody here is able to answer my puberty-confusion questions.

So i am sixteen and im starting to worry about first sex. Not that im afraid or anything but rather because of my penis, more specifically my foreskin. I will be very graphic here, mostly because English is not my first language.

So, how is foreskin supposted to work? When my penis gets errected , my foreskin covers like 1/3 of the tip. I am able to pull the foreskin down under the tip but when i masturbate the foreskin just goes back. Is that supposted to happen? All the guys in porn have the foreskin under the tip, not on it. Another thing i am worried about is how the foreskin moves. Lets say that when my penis is errect, i grab the foreskin in middle of penis and i am able to stretch it all the way to top of the tip without any problems. When i masturbate, i grab the foreskin and move it up and down. That is the thing im most worried about,i move the foreskin by holding it. is that supposted to happen? Wont that take away all the "pleasure" from the girls part is the foreskin doesnt move in vagina ? If that is a problem, is there any solution (possibly without circumstancion) ? Please help. And dont answer diplomatically, is there is anything wrong , tell me how foreskin and penis is supposted to work.

Hi Svaetopluk and welcome to Scarleteen,

If you haven't already, I suggest reading this article since it covers most of the concerns you have about your foreskin: A Foreskin Foray: Questions, Concerns, & Clarifications . With your worries about the pleasure of a future partner, having a foreskin is not going to have a huge effect on how much pleasure your partner feels. Part of that is because pleasure is a whole body experience, and part of it is because vaginal sex is not the only way to have mutually pleasing sex with a partner. Does that information, and the information in the article, make sense?

Yes, i feel less worried now. I still think my foreskin takes too much of the tip during erection though. Thanks anyway, very helpful information.

You're welcome! With your concerns about how much your foreskin covers, are you mostly worried about it not looking how you've seen in porn? Or is it causing you any pain or discomfort?

Got it. It's common for people to worry that their genitals are normal, especially if a lot of of their frame of reference for what genitals look like comes from porn (which doesn't always represent the full range of bodies that are out there). In terms of function, as long as it's not preventing you from urinating or getting an erection, there's not really anything to be concerned about. If you want to read more about that, this article is a great place to start (and includes examples of other people being concerned about the look and functionality of their uncircumcised penis): Shown Actual Size: A Penis Shape & Size Lowdown .
