Anal Warts transmission without anal

Unread post by TeppiTep »

Hello, I'm new here and I can't find a solid answer anywhere I look.

I have anal warts, need a surgery to try and get rid of them but I want to know if internal anal warts can be given to a partner without any anal contact at all.

Is HPV transmissible if there is no direct or fluid contact at all and we use protection or should I just wait until I get an all clear from my doctor.

Thank you for your time.

Hi TeppiTep,

HPV can be transmitted by skin-to-skin contact (it doesn't need fluids to be exchanged), which is why condoms reduce the risk of transmission but do not eliminate it entirely. This is particularly important when you remember that you can carry HPV infections on areas where you don't have visible symptoms like warts. The precautions you're describing certainly reduce the risk of transmission, but they don't eliminate it. Your doctor should be able to give you more of an idea of what those risks are. Does that make sense?
