Missed pill 2 days after intercourse

Unread post by Paris »

Hey!

I have been worrying for the past week. Ten days ago (i.e. on the 2nd August) I had a slight intercourse. There was no ejaculation but I'm not sure if there was any pre-cum. I'm worried about sperm presence in pre-cum. I'm actually on the pill and have been taking it since May 2015. From the 7th July 2016 till now I have been using it continuously so no withdrawal bleeding last month. The problem is that I forgot to take the pill on the 4th August, but then took it on the 5th (last Friday) together with the one I had to take that day : I took 2 pills that day. Which means I took the pill more than 48 hours late. Last Friday I did an ultrasound but no follicles and ovulation were detected. However on Saturday I had breakthrough bleeding. Do you think the effectiveness of the pill was compromised? Do you think I have a pregnancy risk? I continued to take the pill normally and avoided intercourse for the past 9 days. I'm very worried :(

Hi Paris,
We will not answer ANY questions about pregnancy fear or anxiety in our direct services from users who are not pregnant or who are not or have not otherwise been directly involved with an actual pregnancy.

Please do not post this kind of question. If you are seeing this text, and your thread is locked, it is because you have posted this kind of question.

We CAN and WILL talk about things like:
• choosing and using a method or methods of contraception for any future sexual activity
• creating your own sexual limits and boundaries based on your needs and/or presenting them to any partners
• making sexual choices that suit your own needs, abilities and limitations, including your own readiness for certain possible risks
• help locating or using emergency contraception if and when you have had a pregnancy risk
• discussing options with a real, existing pregnancy, and help finding and accessing those options, such as abortion services and pre-natal care, or discussing feelings or concerns about a past pregnancy
• help with anxiety like locating mental health services, sound self-help or asking for support from friends or family

You mentioned some questions about birth control. We've made a new thread to talk about that with you here: http://www.scarleteen.com/bb/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=4590
