Grenfell Tower... Current Politics/Protest/Anger in the UK

Unread post by Jacob »

Hey everyone,

I just wanted to check in and see if anyone here on the boards is being affected by some of what is happening here in the UK.

Just as a recap:

A few days ago a towerblock inhabited by some of the poorest people in London went up in flames and many people, probably a hundred - or maybe hundreds, have died.

They warned about the fire risks for years... weren't listened to, and now are devastated and angry. As are many people in similar situations who feel the same.

I am going to a protest later today... There is so much anger and I wouldn't be surprised if we see some rioting in the UK.

We know the drill, that generally young people get blamed and vilified when that happens.

I just wanted to put this here incase we have any users in the UK feeling upset by what's happening.

If you want to talk about it I'm here! We're here!
