I'd like to propose a concept that might go counter to those of the otaku, weebish, and anime-liking persuasion here: hentai isn't full of rape, kinks, and tentacles, it's just that's the type of anime porn that's most imported to western countries since that's what we're into and demand

For my part, I generally think of hentai as being like most other types of pornographic material. There's as lot of variation within the material, some of which is more or less problematic, and some of which is more or less well-known by consumers.
