IF YOU ARE POSTING TO ASK IF YOU SHOULD USE EMERGENCY CONTRACEPTION:

Please do not wait on us if you may need or want EC (like the morning-after pill). Because it is most effective the sooner it is taken or administered, we suggest that you go ahead and get it, and if you want to talk to someone about whether or not you choose to use it, we can do that with you after. That way, you have it ASAP if you do decide you want or need to use it. <3

Things You Should Never Say: Abortion

Unread post by Ashleah »

Choosing to have an abortion can be a difficult decision, especially for teens and young adults. There is so much stigma around teen pregnancy that we forget to recognize how much maturity and strength it takes to choose the best option. Having support is crucial but can be hard to find. Even people who mean well can say things that are hurtful.

Just like in the Things You Should Never Say:Pregnancy, if you have made the choice to terminate a pregnancy or know someone who has what are things that you should not say or ask?

You should never ever guilt someone before or after their decision to have an abortion by telling them "You shouldn't have gotten yourself in this situation in the first place!" or "If you had only made the right decision to begin with . . ."

Most likely this person is already feeling pretty cruddy about the stress they're going through. They shouldn't be guilted by others about what they have done/are doing with THEIR body.
