Re: I'm in the best relationship I've ever been in and want out

Thank you. This really helped. I had a couple more talks with him about stuff & we decided to take a break for a little while, because I didn't feel like I could make a healthy decision still seeing and talking to him all of the time. We started this a few days ago. The talks we had prior to thi...

Re: I'm in the best relationship I've ever been in and want out

Sure, that's fine. I am just afraid of making him very sad, angry or depressed. He has suffered with depression in the past and used to take medication for it, so I'm afraid of possibly bringing that on again. Also, his dad has early onset Alzheimer's and it's generally a very stressful time in his ...

Re: I'm in the best relationship I've ever been in and want out

Yeah, I think that would be great too. I think I'm dealing with a lot of self doubt and justification issues and straight up fear for how he's going to react to me. I'm also afraid I'll get overly emotional and just cry a lot, which would be rough because he's never seen or heard me cry about anythi...

Re: I'm in the best relationship I've ever been in and want out

Well, I decided to go ahead and have a talk with my boyfriend. I didn't really know his side of things as far as our lack of sex and affection, so I texted him the other day when I knew he would be awake and said that I wanted to talk about it. I said that I wanted it to be either in person or over ...

Re: I'm in the best relationship I've ever been in and want out

Thanks for those! After reading those, taking some time to think about what's going on and everything, I think I have discovered the problem. He's a great person and I enjoy being around him, but I don't have the sexual desire for him like I thought I did in the beginning. It's also starting to be o...

Re: I'm in the best relationship I've ever been in and want out

Thanks for the quick response, I agree that would be a good place to start also. I know that I would like to try to take the time to make those adjustments, I think he would too. The issue is that I don't think that he believes anything is particularly wrong with the relationship as it is right now....

I'm in the best relationship I've ever been in and want out

Hi pals! So I've been having some relationship issues recently that I haven't really talked to anyone about. I see a counselor through my university regularly, so I was going to talk to them about this too, but I wanted some feedback from all of you on here too. If you have any experience with this,...

Thanks so much! That's what I thought too but I wanted to make sure, especially since I just applied to be a volunteer (yay!)

Re: Have more than one account?

Okay, I'm pretty sure it's just connected to the old boards but I can give you the username to make sure. I think it was thinkmcflythink4208, if you could switch all posts over from that old account to this one, that would be great and switch it off. It might help for you guys to know my history and...

It shouldn't work anyway because the email associated with the account doesn't exist anymore. But I just wanted to check & see!

Re: Have more than one account?

Hey Scarleteen! I wanted to know if my super old account, from an email I don't use anymore, is still in existence here. I have lost the password for it & can't log into it. I was wondering if it would be possible to have it closed so that I can stay in compliance with the guidelines. I thought ...

Re: I feel excited, but like I'm drowning at the same time

Thanks for the suggestions. I had a talk with my editor and expressed that I wanted more control over the stories I work on and don't work on. So that helped. Because I am on an administration beat, I cannot actually do stories that are "fun" right now. I have in the past, so I'm hoping I ...

Re: I feel excited, but like I'm drowning at the same time

Thanks for the reply! To answer your first question about sacrificing myself. I feel like I maybe don't take care of myself as good as I normally do because of a lack of time. I always feel so rushed now and it's starting to impact other parts of my life. I'm not as close with my friends as I used t...

I feel excited, but like I'm drowning at the same time

Scarleteen pals! So, this really has absolutely nothing to do with anything related to sexuality, but I felt the need to talk about the way that I've been feeling lately. I'm a junior at a public state college in the United States, I won't say which one, and I love everything. I love my chosen major...

Re: Share Your Pregnancy Scare Experiences & Advice

Hey there! I wanted to add a few of my own things in here as well. Two of the pregnancy scares I've had, I've discussed on here before. The first one, I was about 16 and attempted to have sex for the first time with my then boyfriend. It was going to be the first time for both of us, so as expected,...

Should I apologize?

Hey Scarleteen! Recently, I started my first semester of junior year of college (yay!) and I'm really excited about it. In one of my politics classes, I noticed that the old roommate of one of my old friends is in the class and keeps staring at me. Like she's trying to figure out who I am or somethi...

How to handle questions about my boyfriend

Hey there Scarleteen! Sorry it's been awhile! I missed you guys & hoped you could help me out with a few things. I've been dating someone for a few months now, who I met while I have been away at school. Everything has been going great. I've met his parents, friends and I get along with everyone...

Re: Family Supporting Career

Well, as far as that goes, we speak to each other maybe a few times a year. We basically do not talk except when nesscessary. We have nothing in common. My mom says things that I think just make her feel better that we do not have a relationship. She'll say things like "oh when your step dad co...

Re: Family Supporting Career

I would say the ones that matter the most that do not understand would be my step father. We have not had the greatest relationship since he married my mother. I want him to understand so that I don't cause anymore arguments between them. He picks fights with her about me and the whole situation. He...

Family Supporting Career

Hey there Scarleteen friends! I was wondering if any of you have encountered this ongoing problem I have and how you handle it. I'm the first person in my family to attend a four year university and actually finish, let alone graduate early. I also have ambitions of going to graduate school and gett...

Re: I Had Sex With My Best Friend, Now What?

I think I know how to approach this converation with him. He is getting ready to move to a different town and go to graduate school, which I guess made him decide to not pay his next phone bill, so his phone will be deactivated for awhile. He's done this before and has gotten a hold of me again at s...

Re: I Had Sex With My Best Friend, Now What?

I do think he'd be open to that, We are very open and honest with each other with absolutely everything. He's a better friend to me than anyone else and from what he told me, I don't think he wants this to happen again unless it was discussed very throughly and neither one of us was seeing anyone.

Re: I Had Sex With My Best Friend, Now What?

Thanks for the quick reply! I agree that that would probably be a good idea for awhile. That was actually the first time we hadn't hung out in a public place in quite awhile. I don't think he plans to tell his partner about it, they aren't exactly official yet, though he wants to be. He was so asham...

I Had Sex With My Best Friend, Now What?

Hey Scarleteen friends! Yesterday, I hung out with my best friend (who is a male). We've had a sexual relationship in the past, so we are definitely comfortable and trusting of each other in that respect as well. He is seeing someone, a guy, who lives in a different state. He therefore doesn't get a...

What to do when you Run Into an Old Partner

Hey there Scarleteen friends! I'm an Intern at one of the local papers in my area and was out shooting photos of a festival when I run into my ex boyfriend. I was talking with a few friends and he showed up with a big group of his friends. I glanced back at him and instead of doing the mature thing ...
